  • Overview

    To continue growing our presence in North America, we are seeking a highly qualified Business Development professional to join the team focused on the Fashion and Accessories category based in New York.

    Responsibilities

    • Engagement and recruitment of target merchants and brands to expand business to China from North America to serve Chinese consumers
    • Build relationships with decision-makers and C-suite executives
    • Develop understanding of prospective clients’ business and demonstrate strategic ability to discuss the critical issues around international expansion, and advise on the most ideal solutions from company's platform.
    • Negotiate and secure partnership deals with brands and merchants
    • Ensure successful integration of clients onto the relevant platform (s)
    • Ongoing client relationship management to both maximize potential value of the clients as well as ensure satisfaction is maintained on a long-term basis
    • Build and keep relationship with main stakeholders in North America

     

    Qualifications

    There are some very specific competencies and traits that will remain consistent across all these roles – in no particular order:

     

    • Able to take initiative and work pro-actively in a start-up like environment. Flexibility and ability to handle ambiguity will be fundamental to all candidates.
    • Intellectual robustness and curiosity – happy to learn!
    • Multicultural and international exposure such as work experience in multinational companies in the China market
    • Customer-orientated focus with customer relationship management experience, strong listening and presentation skills
    • Ability to quickly understand and assess potential clients’ business imperatives and pain points, and successfully communicate and advocate solutions from company

    Collaborative attitude and a team player Desired Experience:

    • Fluent in English and Mandarin, in both reading and writing
    • Fashion retail buyer or selling into retail
    • Supply chain, logistics companies targeting retailers
    • Work experience in China
    • E-Commerce
