    Launched in February 2014, Tmall Global is the gateway to China for international merchants and the go-to shopping platform for more than 400 million Chinese consumers. Tmall Global currently offers products from 63 countries and more than 15,000 brands ranging from department stores, apparel, electronics, fashion, cosmetics and supermarkets.



    Responsibilities

    • Analyze data and insights to identify needs and behavior of the Chinese consumers resided in the USA. Understand market, category and product trends.

    • Liaise and foster a strong relationship with HZ headquarter teams to understand overall Taobao Overseas business strategy and plans, secure and coordinate resources to grow Tmall and Taobao business in the USA.

    • Strategize and execute category, operation, promotion and channel plans.

    • Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category.

    • Contribute local market and consumer insights to and partner with buyers to source appropriate products and manage inventory.

    • Track, analyze and optimize category performance, incubate star products across categories

    • Enable merchants through education, communication and initiative co-creation. Incubate key account merchants across categories to improve platform productivity.

    • Collaborate with logistic team to continuously improve operation efficiency.

    • Collaborate with marketing team to align on business strategies, priorities and promotional activities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and above.

    • Native in Mandarin, fluent in speaking and writing English are mandatory. 3+ years’ of living experience in the USA is preferred.

    • Proven 3+ years’ experience as category manager or similar role for an ecommerce platform. Cross-border ecommerce platform preferred. Priority categories include but not limited to Fashion and Accessary, Food, Home, Mother and baby, 3C, etc.

    • Capable of independent category planning and execution. Experience in channel operation is preferred.

    • Strong data analytics skills. Excellent communication and people skills. Proactive, responsible, flexible and result driven. Good team player.

    • Proficient in MS Office.

    • Flexible to travel between USA and China for minimum 4 business trips per year.
