    Job Title: 3D BIM Technician 

    Scope of Position: This position is in the Sullivan Park Operations directorate within the Laboratory Services Management & Engineering (LSME) department. The primary function of the LSME department is to provide support for Research, Development & Engineering (RD&E) activities by providing professional service in the areas of project management, infrastructure engineering and laboratory space management. This position is responsible for the implementation and execution of Building Information Modeling (BIM) concepts to improve performance in quality, value, delivery and safety while supporting RD&E facility projects. 

    This role will directly support LSME’s Knowledge Management and Document Control function. A key part of this role is understanding building architecture and infrastructure as well as being able to negotiate and maintain good relations with internal and external customers. Significant time will be spent working with Project Managers (PMs) in the organization by providing BIM support and record drawing receivership throughout the PM process life cycle. 

    This role will be responsible for receiving and creating accurate BIM models, using Revit™, and for updating and maintaining the Sullivan Park Master Model. It will also lead efficiency improvement efforts by utilizing BIM technologies and will perform a variety of associated tasks and assignments as determined by supervisor. 


    Day to Day Responsibilities: Coordination and facilitation of the following focus areas including, but not limited to: 
    1. Safety 
    a. Responsibility for ensuring personal safety 
    b. Completion of all required safety training 
    c. Compliance with all safety requirements 
    d. Participation in and support of the department’s safety initiatives 

    2. Support, implement and execute Sullivan Park’s BIM Program 
    a. Conduct quality audits of Revit™ models from vendors, suppliers and consultants 
    b. Integrate Revit™ models into Sullivan Park’s Master Model 
    c. Build and enhance the Sullivan Park Master Model (backbone and branch) 
    d. Manage and update BIM Program documentation 
    e. Investigate and introduce supporting BIM technologies to Knowledge Management (scanning) 

    3. Coordinate and support Project Managers with BIM, Revit™ models and project receivership 
    a. Ensure PMs, customers, suppliers and vendors have required building documentation for projects 
    b. Attend and participate in project launch meetings as well as turnover and close-out walk-through meetings 
    c. Attend and participate in BIM coordination meetings 
    d. Act as BIM Coordinator, when needed 


    Travel Requirements: Conferences, training or internal customer requests, as approved by supervisor 

    Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 8a-5p, or as determined by supervisor 

    Required Education: Bachelorette Degree (Architecture, IE, ME or relevant engineering degree) 

    Required Years and Area of Experience: 
    • 3+ years of Revit™ experience 
    • 1-2 years of BIM Coordination Experience 

    Required Skills: 
    • Knowledge of Autodesk® Revit™ and Navisworks® *3+ years 
    • Knowledge of basic construction and architectural concepts 
    • Knowledge of BIM and interest in working with infrastructure construction 
    • Knowledge of LEAN principles 
    • Competency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Visio) 

    Desired Skills: 
    • Knowledge of CMMS Maximo® System 
    • Knowledge of Revit™ software interfacing (Revit™ & Maximo®) 
    • Knowledge of 3D Laser Scanning and ReCap™ 
    • Knowledge of LEAN construction 

    • Understanding of Project Management processes 
    • AutoCAD®
