Overview

Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system. Develops functional requirements. Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates. Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce final product. Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates preparation and implementation programs to ensure that products perform as intended and meet customer expectations.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
  • Support 3-7 products approximately. Plans and executes continuous improvement projects on these products.
  • Completes QE deliverables (CAPA, non-conforming material risk analysis, design verification and validations, design reviews for post market issues, etc).
  • Reviews and thoroughly understands product functional and design specifications.
  • Performs defect analysis utilizing experience in statistical quality process analytical methods.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of reports; data trending; manages documentation control systems.
  • Reviews returned material and verifies customer complaints through root cause analysis; develops and executes action plan to address discrepancies; communicates with OEM/CM and customers as required.
  • Communicates and resolves QA issues with Process/Supplier Quality Team as required.
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
  • Investigates and thoroughly understands developments in quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Setting daily/weekly priorities. Other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Has the responsibility to perform required tasks to ensure all provisions of the quality system are met.
  • Initiate and lead quality improvements of moderate scope
  • Own additional quality deliverables such as PPPRs, NCMB, Complaint trending and Pareto, Design changes (DHF and DMR deliverables), Health-Risk assessments etc
