Overview

DB2/SQL-Server DBA

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is the administration of DB/LUW on AIX and Linux in test and production environments. Responsibilities include database installation, upgrade, patching, troubleshooting, DB2 object creation and alterations, backup/recovery; database restores to test environments, monitoring and performance tuning 
  • Secondary responsibility includes the administration of SQL-Server in test and production environments. Responsibilities include database installation, upgrade, patching, troubleshooting, DB2 object creation and alterations, backup/recovery; database restores to test environments, monitoring and performance tuning. 
  • Required to work with end-users, vendors and programmers implement new databases and develop and tune SQL. Production/development support on weekends and weeknights is required.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate should possess a senior level of understanding of DB2/LUW V9.7 through V10.5.
  • The candidates must have excellent communication skills to be able to interact with application developers and end-users to fully understand and implement their requirements.
  • This person should have at least five years of experience as a DB2/LUW DBA.
  • Technical skills required: DB2/LUW, Federated Connections, Stored Procedures, HADR, AIX, Linux and Korn Shell scripting, Q-Rep and Row-Column Access Control, SQL-Server, Windows, Alwayson.

 

 

-          DB2 is a must. More recent version is wanted.

-          SQL Server is a plus  but  it’s not required.  Willing to learn is ok

-          Need to have  very good  communication skill.   They have problems to understand candidates on the  phone

-          Relocate  is ok  and  skype  is ok for interview

-          Budget until Nov.  2018.  May go longer

-          Either AIX Linux is fine.

-          No banking exp is required

-          Most important: DB2, 2nd  important:  DB2…
