Overview

Business Analyst for large mortgage lender in San Diego, CA. Performs research and analysis on current systems and how that aligns with the business needs and strategy. Candidate is responsible for planning, conducting analysis and creating requirements for new regulatory changes and/or a digital/mobile solution applicable to residential mortgage lending. Support the PMO, regulatory compliance, data analysis, technology and business units from planning through execution. Position requires expertise in process mapping, SQL Database, business intelligence, business analysis, UML and project management in a Retail and Wholesale mortgage lending operation. Experience with Loan Origination Systems, (preferably BKFS -Black Knight Financial Services- Empower (Loan Sphere)).

Responsibilities

  • 50% Develops business process flows, business requirements documents, and implementation plan for system changes or new enhancements. Ensure that the design and integration of proposed system and reporting solutions meet all business and regulatory requirements. Leads requirement gathering sessions, design efforts and works with business and technology to ensure all requirements are satisfied. Accountable for user sign-off of changes. Monitors implementation and user satisfaction. Other duties as assigned. 
  • 25% Combines regulatory research and recommendations with requirements for systems or process changes. Organizes, conducts and facilitates cross-functional team meetings. Consults with users and vendors to develop detailed analysis of user requirements (business specification, workflow, reporting requirements). Works with business leaders, legal, compliance and technology and act as a liaison between Business Units within Consumer Lending and Information Technology Group (ITG). Accountable to senior business unit managers, Compliance PMO for project or program implementation. 
  • 25% Responsible for developing traceability matrix, business user test cases, scripts, oversee testing, and providing recommendations and reports for presentation to management. Lend subject matter expertise to project teams and working groups. Assist the implementation manager with the execution of new regulatory programs and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 years direct work experience in regulatory residential mortgage lending industry.
  • Very strong technical skills coupled with minimum 3 years’ Business Analysis experience with Loan Origination Software, data analysis and regulatory reporting.
  • Working in a Program Management office is preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills, process design and database design.
  • Must demonstrate understanding of the technical designs as well as the specifications.
  • SQL server experience a plus. Strong communication skills are necessary for this position, as it will interface with all levels of the business including Executive Management.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving are key skills for this role.
  • Experience with large projects involving big data management, quality, and reporting projects is preferred.
