Reporting to the Head of Management Reporting for the Americas in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group, the Hyperion Solution Architect will lead the data structure redesign effort for Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning. The redesign will impact multiple users and LOB’s, so this role will be required to understand all these impacts when creating the data structure improvement recommendation.


  • Plan and lead the complex, cross-functional initiative to develop the plan to redesign the Hyperion data structure (metadata and dimensionality) for all of the Americas 
  • Translate customer requirements into formal requirements and design documents 
  • Establish specific solutions that are widely accepted by the finance community 
  • Build proof of concept artifacts 
  • Establish quality procedures to enable continuous monitoring of data quality 
  • Define roadmap to optimize Hyperion performance through data structure, calculations, rules, etc. improvements 
  • Communicate and Collaborate with end users, project stakeholders, and data warehouse teams is required to design, develop, identify needs, goals, metric measurements, which will result in easy to understand interfaces and implementation of improved Hyperion experience 
  • Design and develop technical solutions to meet requirements and develop components including extensions, views, customizations, modifications, reports, and workflows independently or as a part of a team


• 5+ years of Hyperion Essbase design and optimization experience – direct Essbase development experience including dimensional design and experience
• 3+ years of Hyperion Planning implementation experience
• 2+ Hyperion Planning implementations
• Must be capable of resolving Hyperion Essbase data integrity and/or calculation performance issues based on understanding of Essbase internal data architecture
• Excel SmartView report template development and deployment experience
• Experience working with Oracle ERP systems as a data source
• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or business
• Broad experience in financial systems
• Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and financial skills (aptitude for financial data reporting)
• Ability to develop effective interpersonal networks within the organization (experience with complex organizational structures)
• Ability to communicate complex issues and ideas with absolute precision and clarity
• Strong work ethic, ability to make decisions, and work under tight deadlines
• Must be a creative problem-solver and a creative problem anticipator who is able to anticipate complex issues and problems and takes proactive steps to prevent them from happening

Additional Qualifications:
• Banking industry experience and strong knowledge of banking organization, products, operations and technology a plus
• OBIEE Dashboard experience a plus but not required
• MBA, CPA, CFA and/or Six Sigma/LEAN certification a plus
• Big 4 or top tier management consulting experience a plus
